【 that time // links 】
This is a collection of links that take you to sites outside of my own. /anotoki.html will always be under construction, no matter how many links I add.
Entertainment
- Cameron's world - A collage made out of .gifs from Geocities sites. Excellent for those who enjoy looking at .gifs that were present back in the day while having autoplayed music claw at their ears.
- God Hates Goths - "Official" website of the 'Parents Against Goth' organisation. Satire.
- Thought Experiments Lain - I struggle to describe this site in a way that is coherent, because I don't know where to start. But: it's a fan page (not a fan site) dedicated to Serial Experiments Lain. Hasn't been updated since 2009.
- r/nosleep - You might already be familiar with this. Best experienced after watching a gnarly horror film alone at three ante meridiem.
Educational
- r/FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH/wiki/edu - This is just one section of r/FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH's absolute Behemoth of a wiki. (Some of the links in /anotoki.html might be present here.)
- masterWiki - Stolen from MasterClass, republished as wikiHow.
- succeedsocially - Guide on social skills, basically.
- Languages and Linguistics - Massive (37 GiB!) directory of language learning resources. Sadly, MEGA only allows 5 GiB to be transferred in a single session unless you give them your money, so I recommend grabbing everything you need and then returning at a later date to see if there's anything else you'd like to take home with you.
Forums
- 4channel - 4chan without the NSFW boards. Please note that you might still find slurs being thrown around, but other than that, it's mostly SFW.
- lainchan - Imageboard based around Serial Experiments Lain, complete with a /lain/ board.
- Doomworld - Forum dedicated to the DOOM video game series.
- forum.hr - Croatian general-purpose internet forum. If you're using Chromium or a Chromium-based browser, it might be able to translate the site for you, so you don't have to worry about learning Croatian.
Website tools & graphics
- CodePen - Live editor, it shows you the changes you make in real time.
- GifCities - Archive of Geocities graphics.
- w3schools - The HTML Bible. Not just HTML, but also CSS, JavaScript, hell, even Python, Java, C++ and PHP. Mostly known for its HTML tutorials, though.
- nineinchnails.net/graphics.html - This one's for the Nine Inch Nails fans. Be sure to look through the miscellaneous graphics; to quote the website,
webmasters may want to check this out for images that fit well into web sites.
Miscellaneous
- archive.org - The Internet Archive! I'm sure you're already familiar with this. An absolute Behemoth of a non-profit library, it has everything you need; from books, full-length movies, operating system CD-ROMs, shareware CD-ROMs, if you ever need anything, you'll probably find it on archive.org. It can also be used to archive your site, but you're probably aware of that already. Here's a tip: if you're gonna grab anything from the Internet Archive, especially software, use a virtual machine to test things out before putting anything on your actual computer. That way, you won't have any creepy-crawlies fucking up your machine.
- tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1855 - A set of guidelines made in 1995 on behaving in conversations on the internet.
- Wikiless - It's Wikipedia...but without the bloat? Well, I'm sure someone will find use for it. If you don't want to use Wikipedia for whatever reason, this one's for you.
- Silent Hill Memories - Silent Hill fan site. Includes a decent amount of information about the Silent Hill games, as well as several guides.
- openings.moe - Anime opening database. [ cough cough ] gakkou gurashi [ cough cough ]
- Photomosh - Glitch your images. Honestly, it's pretty cool, and I personally use it to create most of the graphics used on this web site. Here are some examples of what you can do.
- InstallGentoo Wiki - The /g/ wiki. It's better experienced than explained.
